Dr. Jayalakshmi Somasundarm
CHIEF SCIENTIST
Dr. JayalakshmiSomasundaram is a distinguished academician, researcher, and clinician specializing in Conservative Dentistry, Endodontics, and Materials Science. She completed her BDS from Saveetha Dental College, Chennai, in 2006, graduating with four gold medals and earning sponsored a externship at Glasgow Dental School, UK.
She completed her PGCE in Endodontics under IGNOU in 2012 and obtained her MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from Sri Ramakrishna Dental College in 2015, receiving the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University Medal for securing the highest marks in the university examinations. She earned her PhD in Materials Science from Saveetha University in 2022 and has completed over ten specialized certification programs in Materials Science and Testing from reputed international institutions.
Since 2015, Dr. Jayalakshmi has been associated with Saveetha Dental College and has played a key role in establishing the White Lab – Material Research Centre and Saveetha’s centralized research platform comprising 14 specialized laboratories. With several granted patents, numerous research publications, and multiple academic awards to her credit, she currently serves as the Chief Scientist, White Lab – Material Research Centre, and Associate Dean (Consultancy), Saveetha Dental College, SIMATS.
Having completed his undergraduate studies at Best Dental Science College, Madurai in 2015, he went on to pursue postgraduation in Periodontology at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, Chennai, graduating in 2019. Throughout his academic journey, he has demonstrated a fervent commitment to dental research and professional development. Actively engaging in numerous National Conferences and Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programs, he has showcased his expertise by presenting multiple posters and papers, resulting in the acquisition of six prestigious awards. Furthermore, his dedication to advancing the field is evident through his extensive publication record, boasting over 70 articles in Scopus-indexed journals. His research pursuits primarily focus on periodontal biomaterials and biomarker diagnostics, showcasing a deep-seated passion for enhancing oral healthcare through innovative scientific exploration and discovery.

Completed her under graduation from Thai Moogambikai Dental College and Hospital, Chennai in 2019. She is very passionate and sincere in her work and she has attended several conferences, CDE programmes and has presented multiple paper and posters. She has Dr. Vaishnavi keen interest in dental biomaterials research.
Completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Shri Venkateshwara Dental College & Hospital,Chennai by 2015.She has been credited with awardings in number of national and international conferences and CDE programmes while her undergraduation. Also she completed internship programmes in the area of Basic Dentistry. Her focus of interest is on dental research specific with occlusion with number of ongoing projects on machine and instrument design and fabrication.

Completed His Under Graduation from Jerusalem College of Engineering, Chennai in 2021. He has presented papers on various topics, attended conferences and also conducted many Biomedical Workshops during his term as an undergraduate. With His interest in the field of research and technology, he thrives to learn more about the advancements that happen in the field of technology by experimenting with his knowledge in every other field of research and technology.
Harikaran M is a Biomedical Engineer with 3 years of experience in biomedical instrumentation, research support, and advanced laboratory technologies. He completed his B.E. in Biomedical Engineering (2019–2023) and M.E. in Bioelectronics Engineering (2023–2025) from Saveetha School of Engineering, SIMATS. He possesses strong technical expertise in biomedical devices, scientific instrumentation, data analysis, and laboratory operations, with a keen interest in healthcare technology, medical imaging, and research-driven innovation.
Er. Harikaran M - Bio Medical Engr
Prasanna K is a Biomedical Engineer with 2.5 years of experience in the healthcare and instrumentation industry. He completed his B.E. in Biomedical Engineering (2020–2024) from Saveetha School of Engineering, SIMATS. He has worked as a Product Associate Engineer at AKAS Medical Equipment, gaining extensive hands-on experience in product testing, validation, quality assessment, and medical device development. His expertise includes healthcare technologies, biomedical instrumentation, regulatory testing, and ensuring the performance and reliability of medical equipment.
