Dr. A. Paramasivam completed his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology-Genetics from the University of Madras and pursued postdoctoral research at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, under the Department of Human Genetics. He is currently working as Research Scientist at Saveetha Dental College & Hospitals, SIMATS, Chennai. He has received prestigious international recognitions including Young Investigator and Travel Awards from the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG), American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), and European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). His research focuses on molecular oncology, RNA epigenetics, exosome biology, oral cancer biomarkers, regenerative medicine, and translational therapeutics. Dr. Paramasivam has published numerous research articles in reputed international journals including Annals of Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Archives of Oral Biology, and American Journal of Cancer Research. He has also served as Principal Investigator and CoPrincipal Investigator for multiple externally funded projects supported by DST-SERB, ICMR, and the DBT Genome India Project focusing on translational oncology, molecular diagnostics, and biomarker discovery.

Dr. J. VIJAYASHREE PRIYADHARSHINI, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., M.D (E.H)

Dr. J. Vijayashree Priyadharsini secured University First Rank with Gold Medal in M.Phil. Genetics from the University of Madras and subsequently completed her Ph.D. in Genetics at the same institution. She was awarded the prestigious DST-PURSE Junior and Senior Research Fellowship for her doctoral research. She is currently working as Research Scientist at the Clinical Genetics Laboratory, Saveetha Dental College & Hospitals, SIMATS, Chennai.

She has published more than 100 research articles in reputed national and international journals including Oral Oncology, Epigenomics, Cancer Gene Therapy, Hypertension Research, and Annals of Oncology. Her research specialization includes oral cancer biomarkers, exosomal microRNAs, liquid biopsy, RNA methylation, molecular diagnostics, and translational cancer therapeutics. Her technical expertise includes Real-Time PCR, RT-PCR, SNP genotyping, mutation analysis, exosomal RNA profiling, cell culture techniques, and bioinformatics-based analyses. She has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for externally funded projects supported by ICMR-DHR and DST-SERB with cumulative grants exceeding ₹85 lakhs.

DR. K. MEENAKSHI SUNDARAM , M.Sc., Ph.D.

Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy & Zebrafish Research Facility

His research has focused on translational approaches integrating in vitro cell culture systems and in vivo zebrafish models to evaluate toxicity, wound healing, regeneration, and therapeutic efficacy of bioactive compounds and nanomaterials. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals, addressing oral cancer biology, oxidative stress mechanisms, biomaterials, and regenerative medicine. His work emphasizes innovative strategies for disease modeling, apoptosis, antioxidant pathways, and tissue repair. He has actively supervised student research projects and promoted collaborative scientific investigations.

Dr. V. Baskar received his bachelor’s in microbiology from MK University, India, and master’s in biotechnology from Bharathidasan University, India. He received an international scholarship for his Ph.D. in molecular biotechnology from Konkuk University, South Korea. Later, he worked as a National Post-doctoral Fellow (NPDF) researcher at Bharathiar University, India, till 2018. Following the postdoctoral research, he joined as the technical expert at Tex City Biosciences Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore. Then he worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, India, in 2020-2022. He published numerous articles in reputed journals with a total of over 7500 citations and holds national patents. Dr. Baskar published several book chapters, edited a book, and published magazines. He received several awards, including the World Top 2 Scientist award, and also served as EBM in various journals. He has been qualified for the NET-ASRB and served as a member in reputed organizations like the Indian Science Congress Association, American Society for Plant Biologists, American Society for Microbiology, Asian Phytopathological Society, National Academy of Biological Sciences, etc. Dr. Baskar received grants from DST-SERB, ANRF, TNSCST, etc.

MicroRNAs or circulatory microRNAs (miRNAs) are short non-coding RNAs, considered to be trivial markers for many non-communicable diseases. It is easily detectable in all kinds of body fluids including saliva and it has been proven that miRNAs are upregulated in many disease situations and are believed to be involved in the pathogenesis and progression. Interestingly, much literature summarized that miRNAs may be useful as prognostic, diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for hypertension and various types of cancer. Our lab is focusing on miRNAs biology and its signaling pathways in the treatment of hypertension and other non-communicable diseases. We developed a hypertensive animal model to test various small RNAs and used Anti-miRs as miRNAs inhibitors to suppress the elevated miRNAs and reduce the disease progression.

Dr. Durairaj Sekar , M.Sc., Ph.D.,

Dr. E. Dilipan is an Associate Professor (Research) in Physiology at Saveetha Dental College & Hospital, with over 18 years of combined research and academic experience in marine biotechnology, molecular biology, and physiology. He earned his Ph.D. in Marine Biotechnology from Annamalai University and was awarded the prestigious DAAD fellowship to conduct part of his doctoral research at Leibniz University, Germany. He has worked at leading institutions including CSIR-CSMCRI, Periyar University, and Leibniz University, and has also served as a Research Associate in the Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology at CSIR-CSMCRI and DST-SERB National Post-Doctoral Fellowship.

Dr. Dilipan’s research expertise spans biogeochemical cycling, seagrass genetics, marine microbial ecology, stress genomics, metabolomics, natural product discovery, molecular docking, and nanobiotechnology. He has successfully led multiple funded research projects supported by DST-SERB, DBT, MoES, DAAD, and currently serves as Principal Investigator for an ANRF-funded project (₹41.1 lakhs) on SNP marker development in Indian seagrasses.

He has published over 70 peer-reviewed research articles (cumulative impact factor >200), authored several book chapters with international publishers such as Springer and Elsevier, contributed to conference proceedings, and holds five Indian patents related to marine-derived antimicrobial and antifouling agents. Additionally, he has authored books, guided numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.

Dr. Jayaraman has successfully secured multiple major research grants from national funding agencies including the Department of Science and Technology–Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB), Government of India, and the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST). He has completed several major and minor funded projects in areas related to diabetes, epigenetics, COVID-19 therapeutics, cancer biology, and translational nutraceutical development, with total research funding exceeding ₹1.5 crores through consultancy and sponsored projects.

A dedicated academic mentor, Dr. Jayaraman has guided numerous Ph.D., MDS, MBBS, M.Sc., M.Phil., and BDS students and currently mentors several doctoral scholars. He also serves as a doctoral committee member and scientific review board member for various reputed institutions and universities across India.

Dr. Jayaraman has received numerous prestigious awards including the Best Researcher Award, Best Faculty Award, Most Enterprising Faculty Award, and the Dental Domain Publications Award from Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences. His exceptional dedication to teaching, research excellence, and scientific innovation continues to inspire young researchers and contribute significantly to the advancement of biomedical sciences globally.

DR. Selvaraj Jayaraman, M.Sc., M.Ed., M.Phil., Ph.D

Dr. Kaviyarasi Renu is an accomplished researcher and academician with over a decade of experience in biochemistry and molecular biology. She is recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (Stanford University, 2023–2025) for her impactful research contributions.

Her expertise includes drug and chemical toxicology, adipose biology, metabolic disorders, and molecular mechanisms of disease, with strong proficiency in both in-vitro and in-vivo experimental approaches. She has published 70+ high-impact research articles, with over 5000 citations and an h-index 30.

Dr. Renu actively mentors undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. students, and is involved in multidisciplinary research projects and grant development. Her research focuses on understanding disease mechanisms and identifying novel therapeutic targets, particularly in cardiotoxicity, diabetes, lipotoxicity, and cancer biology.

DR. . Kaviyarasi Renu, M.Sc., PhD.,

An extensive research experience in the field of cell signaling in human and mouse taste bud cells, specifically in fat taste perception. An previously published important findings on the differential responses of CD36 and GPR120 receptors for fat taste perception in taste bud cells cultured in vitro, which were published in a high-impact journal, Acta physiologica in 2023. In addition, I have conducted extensive research on the correlation between genetic variations in fat taste receptors and the perception of sweet and fat tastes in relation to obesity, I have also studied the factors that regulate fat taste signal transduction and conducted studies on calcium signaling mediated by CD36 and GPR120 in human taste bud cells. These findings have recently been published in high-impact journals including Clinical Nutrition (IF-6.36), FASEB J (IF-5.19), and Food Research International (IF-7.42) with cumulative impact factor of 143.72 via 24 Q1 publications .
