Dr. Pasiyappazham Ramasamy is an accomplished Marine biologist and biotechnologist with extensive expertise in marine bioresources, biopolymers, and translational life sciences. He currently serves as Associate Professor (Research) and heads the Marine Biopolymer Research Lab at the Centre for Marine and Aquatic Research, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), Chennai, India. His interdisciplinary research spans marine biology, microbiology, biotechnology, pharmacology, and environmental sciences, with a strong emphasis on the valorization of marine-derived biomaterials for biomedical, environmental, and industrial applications. He earned his Ph.D. in Marine Biology and Oceanography from Annamalai University, where his doctoral research investigated the in vitro and in vivo antioxidant properties of chitosan and the wound-healing potential of collagen–chitosan films derived from cephalopods. He has held several prestigious research and academic positions in India and abroad. Notably, he completed an international postdoctoral fellowship at Xiamen University, China, focusing on quorum-sensing inhibitors for controlling microbially influenced corrosion. He is a recipient of the UGC–Dr. D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Visiting Scientist Award. In addition to his research roles, he has served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department at institutions including PRIST Deemed University, National College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, and Mass College of Arts and Science. He has published over 120 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, holds multiple patents, and has an H-index of 26. His contributions have been recognized through several honors, including the Best Researcher Award (2025) and AGAR Research Excellence Award (2024). His ongoing research focuses on marine biowaste valorization, functional biopolymer development, and sustainable, eco-friendly innovations aligned with global sustainability goals.

Dr. R. Ragupathi Raja Kannan is a distinguished Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry (LNPMC) at Saveetha Dental College & Hospitals, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), Chennai, India. Dr. Kannan is an internationally recognized researcher in natural products chemistry, computational drug discovery, enzyme inhibition, and translational pharmacology. He has published over 208+ SCI(E)-indexed research articles with a strong citation impact and an h-index exceeding 54. His research contributions span across medicinal plant chemistry, marine bioactives, AI-driven drug discovery, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). He has received several prestigious recognitions, including the Claude Leon Foundation Fellowship and the NRF Innovation Fellowship (South Africa), and holds an NRF ‘C’ rating. He has established strong global collaborations and serves as a member of the International Lipid Expert Panel and a collaborator with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), USA.

Dr. Rajesh Kanna Gopal, Ph.D., MRSB,
.Dr. Rajesh Kanna Gopal is a phycotechnologist with over nine years of research experience in algal biotechnology. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Madras (2019), with a thesis on Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) from microalgae, and established the Centre for Phycotechnology at SIMATS, Chennai. He has published 68 research articles in peer-reviewed journals including The Lancet Microbe, Scientific Reports, and Algal Research, with an h-index of 11 and over 837 citations. He holds 3 patents and 2 registered copyrights, and has been recognized with the Young Scientist Award (SRM-ICBEST'22), AVRS Associate Fellow Award (2023), and Innovative Biomaterials Patent Award (2025). He is a Member of the Royal Society of Biology (MRSB), London, and has received research grants from ANRF, CSIR, and ICMR-DHR. He has guided 31 postgraduate and undergraduate research students and serves as an active resource person at national and international conferences.
